Dr. Rocío Rivas is running for re-election in Board District 2. An LAUSD alumna and parent, she has been a champion on the school board for public education to ensure every single student has access to a quality public education. As chair of the LAUSD Charter Schools Committee, Rivas has led efforts to strengthen oversight of charter companies, and as chair of the School Climate Committee, she continues to push initiatives for healthy, green campuses.
Kelly Gonez is running for re-election in Board District 6. Board Member Gonez has signed her commitment to support an immediate UTLA contract settlement that aligns with our key bargaining priorities. She is a former teacher and has advocated on the board to prioritize campus greening projects. Gonez partnered with UTLA on a resolution to address extreme heat and modernize 5,000 school HVAC units.
Eunisses Hernandez is running for re-election in District 1. A community organizer and daughter of immigrants, Hernandez has been a leader in advancing tenant protections, police accountability, and was instrumental in protecting public and social services in the LA City budget.
Estuardo Mazariego is a community and labor organizer who is committed to the South Central community. As the co-director of ACCE, he has partnered with UTLA on issues impacting access to affordable housing.
Faizah Malik is a housing and civil rights attorney running for City Council District 11. Malik has helped tenants fight malicious landlords and led a lawsuit to return land taken in the 1920s under racist policies. She has played a major role in the fight to pass and protect key tenant protections and housing affordability measures.
Hugo Soto-Martinez is running for re-election in District 13. As the first rank-and-file union organizer ever elected to LA City Council, he has championed policies to raise the minimum wage and protect tenants and immigrants.
The City Attorney is an elected position to represent the people of Los Angeles and serve as the city’s lawyer. California Deputy Attorney General Marissa Roy is running for LA City Attorney to stand up to Trump, protect workers against predatory and exploitative tactics, and break the poverty-to-prison pipeline.
Kenneth Mejia is running for re-election for LA City Controller. He is the first CPA-licensed accountant to hold the position and has been a champion of data transparency. During his first term, he launched an online portal to track how public dollars are being spent. He led a public audit of the LAPD budget including how much is spent on helicopter use and overtime.
