Since our 2019 strike, where we pushed the district to fund the first 30 Community Schools, they have grown into vital hubs for community resources, family engagement, and collaboration between students, parents, and educators. This year, 8 more schools have been added to the program, bringing the total to 63 designated Community Schools across the district. These schools have played a defining role in closing the opportunity gap for students and families by providing essential services and fostering stronger connections in the communities they serve. At the center of this transformation are the Community School Coordinators, whose leadership has been pivotal in driving this change.

From September 15-21, we celebrated Community School Coordinator Week of Appreciation. Read more below on how the relentless work of Community School Coordinators is advancing student success, strengthening family engagement, and building partnerships that uplift our public schools.
