The UTLA Human Rights Committee will be having a meeting at the UTLA Building to discuss the upcoming Tri-National Conference to Defend Public Education that will take place in San Antonio, Texas November 8-10, 1024. The Tri-National Conference is a coalition of social justice minded-educators from Canada, the United States, and Mexico that discusses and learns from each other about the struggles in their countries and what we can do to unite and win.
The Trinational Coalition supports indigenous people everywhere, a just economy for all, and believes education is a human right. If interested, join the Human Rights Committee on August 22 where we will talk about the details and obligations for the attendees of the conference, what the conference is about, and the process for choosing who UTLA sends to the conference. Attending the Tri-National Conference to Defend Education is a great experience for educators who want to organize and fight for progressive change!
