5:00pm - 6:30pm
- Zoom
02.19.26

Details

This combined training is designed specifically for itinerant educators and UTLA leaders and brings together two essential components: understanding the staffing matrix and class selection process, and strengthening organizing skills for collective action.

The first half of the training focuses on the staffing matrix—what it is, how it is created, and how it applies to itinerant educators during the class selection process. Participants will review itinerant-specific considerations, educator rights, key timelines, and how assignment preferences are addressed across multiple sites.

The second half builds on Organizing Part 1 and serves as Organizing Part 2 for itinerants, connecting organizing fundamentals directly to the current campaign, key priorities, and next steps. Participants will apply organizing skills to real-time campaign work, including engagement strategies, communication, and coordinated action across multiple school sites. The training emphasizes moving from knowledge to action and building confidence in organizing as itinerant educators.

This training is intended for itinerant educators and UTLA leaders who need foundational knowledge of the matrix and class selection process and who have completed Organizing Part 1 or are already engaged in organizing work.
