Our city continues to reel from the racist, colorist, and classist language spewed by City Council members Nury Martinez, Kevin de León, and Gil Cedillo and LA County Federation of Labor President Ron Herrera in audio tapes released earlier this week. Their words behind closed doors expose a level of moral and political corruption that shocks the soul. On Monday the UTLA leadership called for their immediate resignation.

Martinez and Herrera have since resigned. De León and Cedillo must do so too immediately. They should no longer have the power to make decisions for the people of Los Angeles.
