05.20.24 Read Time: 1 min Passings: Letha Jane Lawson Letha Jane Lawson was born February 1, 1929 and passed away on April 26, 2024. Letha was born in Flint, Texas. After earning her bachelors of arts in English and liberal studies from Texas Southern University in Houston, she moved to Los Angeles with her son, Cedric, in 1958 to pursue career education. She soon after received her teaching credential and begin teaching with the Los Angeles Unified School District, where she taught for 40 years. She spent 33 years at 99th Street Elementary School in Watts, teaching kindergarten and first grade. She loved working with the youth in the South Area of Los Angeles. After she retired, she enjoyed bowling and was known as lethal weapon on the lanes. She was sharp, witty, happy, and full of life. She passed away at the age of 95 years old.
