Platinum Apple Awards for Excellence in Education

Nominations are now open for the UTLA Platinum Apple Awards. Each UTLA chapter may submit a nomination for this great award, given by our own, for our own, for excellence in education. Schools should hold a nomination meeting to select your nominee; all members are encouraged to participate. Nominations are due no later than Friday, February 27, 2026, by 4PM. Honorees will be recognized on Saturday, May 2, 2026.

Please consider interviewing the nominee to get pertinent information to facilitate the writing process. Only one official nomination per chapter will be accepted.

A. Nominee should meet educational criteria and excel in the eyes of colleagues in special ways. Include information that describes why this nominee is deserving of this Platinum Apple Award.(Required)

Nominee engages and supports all students in learning in some or all of the following ways: * Connects students’ prior knowledge, life experiences and interests with educational, health or behavior goals. * Uses a variety of instructional strategies and resources to respond to students’ diverse needs. * Facilitates learning experiences that promote autonomy, interaction, reflection and choice. * Engages all students in problem solving and critical thinking that promote health and positive self-image. * Promotes self-directed reflective learning for all students.(Required)
