May 7 Rally: Transportation by Area

The best way to get to the May 7 rally is by taking the Metro to downtown LA. While you can access the Metro from virtually anywhere in the city, below are some main Metro Stations, many of which have decent parking options. You can also plan your trip and check day-of times and schedules at the Metro Trip Planner.

The Tap app allows you to pre-purchase fares and use your phone to board.

There are a few — but limited — parking options.

VALLEY EAST & VALLEY WEST AREAS

Route: Take the Metro G/Orange Line to North Hollywood Station. Transfer to the Metro B/Red Line to 7th St/Metro Center (17-minute walk).

Route: Take the MetroLink Ventura County Line to Union Station. Change to the Metro B/Red Line or Metro D/Purple Line to 7th St/Metro Center (17-minute walk).

EAST AREA

Route: Take the Metro E/Gold line to 7th St/Metro Center (17-minute walk).

Route: Park at Union Station and take the Metro B/Red Line or Metro D/Purple Line to 7th St/Metro Center (17-minute walk). 

Union station parking: Union Station East $8, Union Station West $16

NORTH AREA

Route: Take the Metro B/Red Line or Metro D/Purple Line to 7th St/Metro Center (17-minute walk). 

Parking for B line stations and D line stations.

Route: Take the Metro A/Blue line to 7th St/Metro Center (17-minute walk) or Grand Avenue Arts/Bunker Hill Station (15-minute walk).

Parking info for A line stations.

Route: The LADOT Dash Bus F stops at LAUSD headquarters (Beaudry and Third). LADOT Dash Bus A goes to Figueroa and Second.

HARBOR AREA

Route: Take the Metro J/Silver line to Union Station. Take the Metro B/Red Line or Metro D/Purple Line to 7th St/Metro Center (17-minute walk).


Route: Take the Metro A/Blue line to 7th St/Metro Center (17-minute walk) or Grand Avenue Arts/Bunker Hill Station (15-minute walk).

Route: Take the Metro C/Green line to the Willowbrook/Rosa Parks Station. Transfer to the Metro A/Blue line to 7th St/Metro Center (17-minute walk) or Grand Avenue Arts/Bunker Hill Station (15-minute walk).

WEST AREA

Route: Take the Metro E/Gold line to Grand Avenue Arts/Bunker Hill Station (15-minute walk).

PARKING

  • Limited parking available at 1229 W. 4th Street and 350 S. Bixel. The parking attendant will first exhaust the 32 spots on 4th St and then will direct people to park at 350 S. Bixel. Inform the parking attendant that you are here for UTLA. Parking covered by UTLA only available for the first 100 cars. Cars need to exit by 8 pm.
  • Parking of 1110 Ingraham Street. Bring both credit/debit and/or cash — fee not covered by UTLA. 16-minute walk to rally.
  • Parking at 400 S. Flower. Fee not covered by UTLA.
  • Street parking: 2-hour meter parking: 8 AM to 6 PM. Fee not covered by UTLA.
