LAUSD has stacked up $6.4 billion in reserves while school communities continue to face the impacts of massive economic inequality, devastating environmental disasters, the housing crisis, and attacks on immigrant families. LAUSD should spend our public dollars on supporting underpaid educators and struggling school communities.

As 38,000 UTLA members, we are ready to fight for our platform of bargaining demands that include:

• Significant pay raises that fix the broken LAUSD salary schedule 
• Targeted class size and caseload reduction with stronger accountability measures to ensure compliance 
• Significant improvements in student support staffing – PSAs, PSWs, and other critical staff 
• Increases in protected planning and prep time 
• Stability for schools and programs 
• Support for students, parents, and families on housing, immigration, and more 
• And other specific proposals on every point of the Win Our Future platform, such as safe and clean schools, workplace rights, and student support
