United Teachers Los Angeles demands justice and accountability for the unchecked violence and killings in our communities by federal immigration agents, and an end to militarization and occupation here and abroad. 

This reckless administration continues to wreak havoc, violence, and trauma on the people of this country and other nations under the guise of “public safety.” 

The reality is that this administration has created a public safety crisis by enabling armed and masked agents to use force and violence to criminalize and racially profile immigrants and US citizens, target marginalized communities, and prevent people from upholding constitutional rights.  

The brutality must end, especially at a time when local, state, and federal officials have consistently called on the federal government to invest in the resources working families truly need — education, health care, housing, access to food — instead of indiscriminate terror in our communities. 

We demand justice for those who have been abducted by ICE and those who are now missing. 

We demand justice for those shot, some losing their lives, at the hands of ICE agents: Keith Porter Jr., Renee Nicole Good, Silverio Villegas González, Yorlenys Betzabeth Zambrano-Contreras, and Luis David Nico Moncada. 

We demand justice for the heartbreaking trauma inflicted upon their loved ones. 

We demand justice for the terror inflicted upon our communities. 

ICE out of LA. ICE out of every city. End the militarization and occupation of our neighborhoods, our communities (and now even our SCHOOLS), and of those in nations abroad.

El sindicato de maestros de Los Ángeles (United Teachers Los Angeles) exige justicia y que se rindan cuentas por la violencia y los asesinatos impunes cometidos en nuestras comunidades por agentes federales de inmigración, y exige el fin de la militarización y la ocupación, tanto aquí como en el extranjero. 

Esta administración imprudente continúa sembrando el caos, la violencia y el trauma entre la población de este país y de otras naciones bajo el pretexto de la “seguridad pública”. 

La realidad es que esta administración ha creado una crisis de seguridad pública al permitir que agentes armados y enmascarados utilicen la fuerza y la violencia para criminalizar y perfilar racialmente a inmigrantes y ciudadanos estadounidenses, atacar a comunidades marginadas e impedir que las personas ejerzan sus derechos constitucionales. 

Esta brutalidad debe terminar, especialmente en un momento en que los funcionarios locales, estatales y federales han instado reiteradamente al gobierno federal a invertir en los recursos que las familias trabajadoras realmente necesitan —educación, atención médica, vivienda accesible, acceso a alimentos— en lugar de sembrar el terror indiscriminado en nuestras comunidades. 

Exigimos justicia para quienes han sido secuestrados por ICE y para quienes se encuentran desaparecidos. 

Exigimos justicia para quienes fueron baleados, algunos de ellos perdiendo la vida a mano de los agentes de ICE, a manos de agentes de ICE: Keith Porter Jr., Renee Nicole Good, Silverio Villegas-González, Yorlenys Betzabeth Zambrano-Contreras y Luis David Nico Moncada.
