Win Our Future: Bargaining Session #1

The second-floor auditorium of the UTLA building was filled with red and buzzing with energy on the morning of Tuesday, February 18, 2025, as members of the UTLA bargaining team prepared to sit down with the district in the first bargaining session of the Win Our Future contract campaign. As soon as the district’s team walked in, the room fell silent.

The session started with each UTLA bargaining team member being introduced to the district side by their name, Area, and school or position before presenting the first set of proposals they worked to develop from the Win Our Future platform.

Members Skye Tooley and Jessica Rodarte spoke to the district officials about their personal experiences (below) that have led to the development of various proposals, and when the district came back with questions, the bargaining team member educators were there to give specific examples of issues they are facing at their school or chapte
