UTLA SAYS NO TO "SCARE TACTICS" ON LAYOFFS
UTLA has rejected Superintendent Cortines’ “layoffs or pay cuts” ultimatum, and is demanding that LAUSD open its books, share complete information about expenditures, and look at all cuts away from the classroom.

SCHOOL REFORM
UTLA is currently assisting schools to develop school-based proposals tailored towards the specific needs of each school. At the same time, UTLA continues to strongly oppose the school choice motion and is working with civil rights organizations and district unions to investigate legal options to fight this motion.
