Chapter Chairs are the critical contract enforcer, communicator, and lead organizer for your worksite.Having strong Chapter Chairs who drive organizing is how we build power and win higher pay, more staff, lower class sizes and caseloads, increased investment in Special Education, support for immigrant students and families, and other critical demands.
The deadline to self-nominate is Monday, March 2, 2026.
Chapter Chairs are supported in this critical work by a site-based organizing committee – the Chapter Action Team (CAT).
February 2: Chapter Chair nominations
March 2: Chapter Chair nominations closesAny member who is the only nominee from their chapter to self-nominate will be recognized as the chapter chair upon submission of a completed Notice of Chapter Chair Election Form. Chapters for which more than one person self-nominated will require an election to determine the Chapter Chair.
March 4-March 11: Notice and NOCCE form sent to all uncontested nomineesEmail with NOCCE form will be sent to all uncontested chapter chair candidates
March 4-March 26: Elections at chapters with more than one nomineeThe current Chapter Chair will be sent an email with instructions for having a Chapter Chair election conducted by an Election Committee.
After March 4: Open seats filledChapters with no nominees will have the seat filled by the first member to fill out and submit the NOCCE form.
