Nominations are now open for CTA State Council Expired Terms.
CTA State Council of Education is the top policy-making body of the California Teachers Association. CTA State Council develops legislation, makes recommendations in general elections, advocates for educator rights and funding, and amplifies voices against corporate charter schools and privatization. State Council acts as CTA’s policy-making body, meeting four times a year. Each representative is expected to serve on a standing committee that debates business items involving academic freedom, civil rights, political action, teachers’ rights, statewide negotiation issues, and more. As a State Council representative, you also vote for CTA’s statewide officers.
