In March, the district moved to unilaterally increase the required on-site obligation for all out-of-classroom positions from 6 hours to 8 hours. UTLA quickly pushed them to the bargaining table to rescind the 8-hour onsite obligation and continue to make the differential optional. However, the district has not provided UTLA with a counter-proposal since the end of April. It is unacceptable for the district to create so much uncertainty among its employees so close to the end of the school year. Out-of-classroom educators should sign this letter demanding the district rescind its unilateral change and engage in negotiations.
